Kourtney Kardashian has pulled down her pants and is showing me her underwear. Not her underwear exactly, but the underwear she is currently wearing, which normally houses the groin of her fiancé, Travis Barker. “They’re Balenciaga,” she says through an enormous smile, showing off the black cotton.

In the Beverly Hills pool house where we’re talking, I had asked Kardashian to help me identify the components of her outfit and been told — with the appropriately self-satisfied aura you’ve seen on the Mona Lisa and Kardashian’s sister Kim — that she was wearing head-to-toe Barker. Kardashian had been at his house this morning, and, when she needed to go home to get changed before her photo shoot, Barker begged her to stay. Fine, Kardashian said, delivering a cutie-brat challenge: “You need to dress me.” So Barker adorned her in his skater socks and sweatpants and a vintage T that says, “My mom’s going to kill me when she sees this tattoo.” Barker is 5-foot-11 and Kardashian is a teeny 5 feet, but the clothes don’t look too big; like Kardashian’s astonishingly large engagement ring and current level of public attention, they suit her.

Though I’ve seen the besotted couple making out across media platforms and international borders many times over the last few months, it’s jarring to experience Kardashian’s new energy in person. This is not the dry, cutting Kardashian we saw dismiss her sisters’ piques with a monotone, “Kim, there’s people that are dying.” It’s not the woman we watched attempt to have a relationship with her former partner Scott Disick, then detach during his many self-destructions, and eventually settle for co-parenting, an arc that served as Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ dramatic core for many years, and, in Kardashian’s estimation, may have contributed to the end of the romantic partnership.

“Shooting our show, it became a really toxic environment at the end for me,” Kardashian says. “I would fight with my sisters. There was, like, just a lot going on. And even for me personally, I wasn’t in the happiest place.” Kardashian became mired in a familial role — the reluctant one — which was amplified by its necessity to the show’s dynamics and the editing that helped audiences understand them. “I felt like I was being almost a character,” she says. “‘This is Kourtney, and she’s in a bad mood, so even though she was laughing really at lunch, we’re going to cut out the laughing and let’s only use the annoying comment that she said.’”

This created a cycle. Kardashian’s real-life issues were being used as fodder on the reality show, which made her feel worse in actual reality. Eventually, she embarked on a Truman Show-esque journey: a television character trying to escape their show by evading cameras and co-stars in an attempt to have an undocumented place to hide. This, of course, became a plot on the series, in which Kardashian was accused by her sisters of not contributing to the Kardashian family business of televised revelation.

Kourtney Kardashian On Vogue Arabia Cover

Entrepreneur and former reality TV favorite Kourtney Kardashian makes her Vogue Arabia cover debut for the July/August issue, which focuses on prioritizing yourself, with the cover line – “The power of reclaiming yourself. Kourtney Kardashian sets free” – handwritten by the star.

In the exclusive interview and shoot – which took place at her Los Angeles home with photographer Arved Colvin-Smith and stylist Graham Cruz, soon after she left the hit show Keeping Up With the Kardashians – the mother of three talks candidly about her reasons for leaving and her plans on channeling her energy into projects that make her happy.

“I have been filming the show non-stop for 14 years… I was feeling unfulfilled and it became a toxic environment for me to continue to have it occupy as much of my life as it was,” shares Kardashian. “Privacy is something I have come to value and finding that balance of private moments with being on a reality show is hard. People have this misconception that I don’t want to work, which isn’t true. I am following my happiness and putting my energy into that which makes me happy.”

Kourtney Kardashian On The Cover Of Health Magazine April 2020

Kourtney Kardashian is the cover girl of Aprils issue of Health Magazine!

Kourtney Kardashian is all about living a healthy lifestyle for both herself and her children, but she can recognize a special occasion when she sees it.

In an April cover story for Health‘s Green Issue, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star and Poosh founder says that when it comes to her three kids — sons Reign Aston, 5, and Mason Dash, 10, plus daughter Penelope Scotland, 7½ — she tries “not to force it” with their diet.

“I teach them healthy stuff, and everything in moderation,” explains Kardashian, 40. “When we go to Disneyland, we eat whatever; we’re not bringing our own snacks!”

And while she may seem calm much of the time as a parent, the mother of three admits she has her “moments” when she feels like “no one is listening” to her.

“Especially if you’re on a time crunch and trying to get out the door. I don’t always have as much patience as I’d like,” she tells Health. “But I try to remember, ‘It’s not that big of a deal, it’s fine; we’re going to get there.’ It’s about letting go of the plan — it doesn’t always work out!”

Kourtney Kardashian Interview With Rose INC

The Go-See: Kourtney Kardashian
Before the world started keeping up with the Kardashians—before there was a full family of sisters to follow, actually—there was Kourtney Kardashian, the first daughter born to the Kardashian/Jenner family. And yet, there was a time when Kourtney was just a girl living rather anonymously in Los Angeles.

Of course, life is a little different now. A unique alchemy of reality television and social media has made her a household name, and in just under a year, her lifestyle brand, Poosh, has shown that wellness can be sexy and wholesome. (Which, come to think about it, is also a suitable description of a woman who brews herbal tea while baring her back in a Roberto Cavalli gown.) She’s at once thoughtful, playful, maternal, and alluring—which is why she’s one of the women who piques our collective curiosity over and over again.

Here, she speaks with Rose Inc. about her hopes for the future, her ambitions for Poosh, and her take on internet comments. Try to keep up.

RI:
Poosh will turn one year old in April. What is the most surprising thing about the experience so far?

KK:
I am most surprised by how fulfilling I am finding it. We have built an amazing team of women who really enjoy working together and take pride in our accomplishments together. We love coming up with content, and I especially love finding out what articles people relate to and how they are helping them in their lives—that’s what makes it worth it. And helping me in the process… I am learning so much!

RI:
What does wellness mean to you? When do you feel like you’re really healthy and thriving?

KK:
It’s really a combination of physical and mental well-being. Feeling at my best, without striving for perfection. To me it is all about balance and moderation. Happiness and health are wealth.

Kourtney Kardashian Paper Magazine Digital Cover

Kourtney Kardashian did an interview and photoshoot for Paper Magazine. Check out the interview and the photos below.

It was 2011, and the Kardashians were on vacation in Bora Bora, where wooden bungalows crouch directly above sparkling ocean. Kris Jenner stood by the water, wearing a fluffy white bathrobe and concerned facial expression. A pre-makeover Kim Kardashian, then married to Kanye West’s direct opposite, sobbed inconsolably. Her $75,000 diamond earring was gone.

As Jenner made soothing noises, a cameraman tracked Kardashian’s eldest sister emerging from her accommodation in the distance, cradling a toddler. When made aware of the jewelry emergency, she failed to emote anything resembling concern. “Kim,” she instead called out in monotone. “There’s people that are dying.”

That’s Kourtney. A blank faced deliverer of sardonic one-liners, like Daria moved to Calabasas and became an Armenian reality television star post-Lawndale. A woman so blasé that she once called off her own wedding without changing facial expressions. Over time she’s established herself as the least willing Kardashian sibling, and maybe even the most well-adjusted. Already 28 years old back when Keeping Up started filming in 2007, Kourtney also had a college degree, clothing store, and steady boyfriend. She was the first sister to settle down with children. She has always appeared at least semi-aware of her own insane circumstances — the avalanche of fans but also detractors, whose arguments actually resemble that pithy Bora Bora catchphrase. So many terrible things are happening in the world. Why must we care what these six self-loving women have to say?

Kim, possibly in revenge for the earring incident or others like it, once famously characterized Kourtney as “uninteresting to look at.” This is inaccurate. When we meet she’s sitting on a makeup chair halfway through her PAPER shoot in Los Angeles, considering a plate of grilled chicken and salad. I dart my questions around a foundation brush, half wondering why we need bother with the glam squad. Kardashian is 40, but her features are soft and youthful, even girlish. She has these huge, expressive eyes that betray the poker face.

“I just didn’t really think about it,” she recalls of those early days on E!, physically shrugging off the memories. “I never thought it was going to become this thing, but everything just happened so quickly from when we shot the sizzle reel or whatever. It got green lit straight away.” As she says it I watch a lonely cameraman capture B-roll. He has been dispatched to this pastel pink mid century mansion in the valley just in case our interview makes for good TV.
